If you have a question – please let us know.
What is chronic pain?
Chronic pain is ongoing pain that lasts longer than three months and is often felt on most days. Its intensity can range from mild to severe, and it can have a significant impact on daily life, affecting mood, sleep, work capacity, and overall well-being. Even if your pain has lasted less than three months, we are still more than happy to see you and provide support.
What is a fear of movement or exercise?
Fear of movement is a fear or anxiety a person develops around physical activity with the belief that it will cause pain or further injury. This is often the result of a previous injury or health condition, such as fibromyalgia or rheumatoid arthritis.
Do you see clients under 40 years of age?
Yes, we absolutely work with clients under 40. While many people begin to notice more health concerns in their 40s and 50s, it’s never too early to prioritise your well-being. We support individuals of all ages in building healthy habits, preventing issues before they arise, and addressing existing concerns.
I am not sure if exercise physiology is right for me. What should I do?
That’s exactly why we offer a free 15-minute discovery call. It’s a chance for us to chat about your goals and challenges, and to see whether exercise physiology is the right fit for your needs.
What local areas do you service?
We service locations within 15 minutes from Elsternwick train station. Areas up to 25 minutes away can also be accommodated, but will be subject to travel fees.
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable clothing that will allow you to move your arms and legs easily.
What should I bring to my appointment?
Please bring any recent imaging, a list of your current medications, and any relevant reports or documents you believe may be helpful.
I am considering joining my local gym. How can you support me?
If you’re ready to get started at the gym, we can create a personalised program tailored to your goals and meet you there to guide you through it. We’ll ensure you’re performing each exercise safely and with proper technique, so you can feel confident and get the most out of your workouts.
Do I need a referral?
No, a referral is not required to see us. However, if you wish to claim through Medicare, you will need a care plan from your GP. The appropriate referrals are also necessary for WorkCover, NDIS, and DVA claims.
What payment options are available?
We accept cash, cheque, credit card, EFTPOS, and offer HICAPS for on-the-spot Medicare and private health insurance rebates.
What are your hours of operation?
St Kilda Movement & Wellness operates between 9 am and 5 pm. However, appointments outside of these hours can be arranged upon request.
Is there a cancellation fee?
To provide the best care and availability for all clients, we kindly request 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or change your appointment. Appointments cancelled within 24 hours may attract a cancellation fee equivalent to the cost of a full session.
