St Kilda Movement & Wellness

St Kilda Movement and Wellness was established by Helen Goldschmiedt after 20 years of working in the allied health and fitness industry.

Throughout her career, Helen observed a recurring pattern with many people feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or even fearful about attending an exercise-based clinic or gym.

A significant number of these individuals live with chronic pain and often feel unheard or dismissed because their pain is misunderstood and, in many cases, their symptoms worsen in traditional exercise settings. This is frequently linked to a heightened, and often subconscious, state of anxiety triggered by the environment itself.

Many of Helen’s clients also present with other chronic health conditions, such as high blood pressure or heart issues, which become more common as they reach their 40s and 50s. Helen is well equipped to support these conditions with safe, effective exercise programs and strategies which are tailored to the individual.

In addition, Helen regularly works with clients who have never exercised before. They have reached a point where they know they need to make a change, but don’t know how and where to begin, and the thought of walking into a gym only adds to their stress.

That’s why Helen created a different approach.

Her home visits and telehealth services are intentionally designed to remove those barriers, reduce anxiety, and create a safe, supportive space where a positive relationship with movement can begin.

She specialises in the prescription and delivery of clinical exercise, lifestyle and behavioural modification programs. Her expertise allows her to work confidently with chronic pain, fear of movement and complex medical conditions, while ensuring every program is personalised, practical and evidence-based.

Helen’s commitment to supporting individuals with chronic pain and fear of movement is deeply rooted in her own lived experience. She navigated a prolonged recovery journey after experiencing 10 years of chronic pain.

At St Kilda Movement & Wellness, Helen’s focus is all about providing you with confidence so you can get on with life, move with purpose and enjoy life’s moments to the fullest.
